Florida Nature
Florida Nature
It was recently that I departed from the noise and same routine,
Our ancestors beckoned me – to visions they had seen.
I found myself surrounded by the untouched Everglades.
My mind was racing fast – I thought they’d have to dispatch aides.
Indians were settlers – thousands of years back in time.
A natural preserve for them – with no steps to climb.
This area has seen its share of visitors and lost treasure.
I imagined hunting for commodities would be my life’s greatest pleasure!
Two activities took advantage of the area – biking and boating.
We stopped to witness trees and birds, my memory so noting.
We were a short distance from the majestic Florida Keys,
Comforted by the sun’s outpouring of degrees.
This is what I seek for my limited time on earth.
The beauty and the wonder – called sentimental net worth.
