Flood

Flood

F illing the streets without care
L eaving everyone in despair
O ut of nowhere, suddenly it comes
O ver the town, so swift it runs.....
D rowning everything in its way.

Flooding is such a helpless feeling because there isn't really anything that will stop water once is breaks into a town. It ruins everything in its path. You captured that well in this poem. Nice use of the acrostic form. Thank you for sharing this message with us and for the congrats. Keep on writing! Karen

I was involved in one flood several years ago. It is truly a terrible thing as your well writen poem depicts. The dispair that touched our town is still evident in the abandoned houses that I walk by on my jaunts. Awesome job, Maryam. Love, Robin

Flood is a terrible thing. I have lived through them as boy in Jamaica and I have seen the destruction that it has cause in this country. I must be honest and tell you I am never a fan of the spelling out of words, but this is done rather well and makes for a thought provoking write. I know you are from Guyana because when I logged on to see who was online it has your country's flag next to your name..not stalking you..lol..enjoyed the read.
