Floating Sentries
Tie down words gondola soft
Pure is the paper, ink is black, stamped with approval
Dilemma sent, place letters in the box
Feather eloquent
Send them off with weathers messengers
Post Office offers services
Sentries who deliver mail
No matter what conditions might prevail
Men who catch a cold, dodge winter and snow
They envelope their way through life
What are words but air
Carried on the wind and backs of postal men
Let them fly, with a flake or two
With men who hide under clouds
Make deliveries through fog
What are sentences but ….
A group of words, air particles strung together
Composing a complete thought
They represent the meaning
Assigned to them in any weather
Created to fill in a need when snowflakes fall off
Sleep now. Don’t worry. Float away on granite minded clouds
Remember words when floating down and you drift off
