Floating

Floating today
I thought of you
Of how it would be
To hold you in blue
To see you play
To see you swim
Sand in your hair
Lazy at whim
Barefoot and happy
Singing out loud
Instead of hiding
Standing up proud
Not worried about
Who’s looking at us
Nor looking at phones
Or catching a bus
Feeling the glory
Of being at peace
Waves crashing over
Staring at geese
Sun going down
Sweatshirts pulled on
Kissing and hugging
Like there is no dawn.
My heart cries out
This moment in pain
I need you so much
There is so much to gain.

I am so happy to have been able to read your poetry today Kristen. I haven't been able to read much poetry for a few days now. Love, Carol
