Flight From Montoursville

FLIGHT FROM MONTOURSVILLE
High in the heavens where the stars abound
must drift the reasoning we fail to find
cloaked in a darkness--void of any sound
uncomprehensable to human mind;

dear sweet sixteen, we bid your flight to be;
from this poor world, where life's not always fair;
through heaven's space, not from a tragedy,
but on into the heart of God somewhere.

We pray your trip's not ended as it seems
to earthly souls you're leaving here behind,
and if a Heaven waits, as in our dreams,
God speed you through the gates you'll surely find,.

From Pensylvania's best, we must believe,
God welcomes you with joy, while here, we grieve.
