Fleur De Free
I crave the simple things, the littlest moments bring me most joy
Still, I hold the biggest of dreams and have amditedly developed a ploy
Flowers in a field and the laughter of a child
Things that make my heart content, and any hurt can reconcile
Just the same, when pen and quill are near
A peaceful feeling falls upon this soul and about the atmosphere
The duties of a homemaker, a mother's work 'til the conscious retires
Yet, the crowded musings of a writer's mind is anything but hiding
In trying to divide the sides war is sure to ensue
I've tried it one too many times and what a storm such a war can brew
Only in acceptance, can the two worlds survive
Allowing a meshing of the roles and embracing them as they collide
Never such a feeling, the relief that comes in tow
As when you surrender to your true self and let the universe take control
It may not be so common; may not be the norm
But I'll take my flowers and ambitions and bask in a life so warm
For how can either be wrong if each threads blood to me?
Opposite ends of the scale, the air of both is what I breathe
Simple things like pretty flowers and porchswings
Grande hopes, big faith, and a heart stiched with ink around the seams
The inner workings of a busy mom, the heart of a poet and wishful themes
The path to which I'll get where I'm going; the freedom I've redeemed
No competition, no taking sides
Just flowers and big dreams
Fleur de Free in simplicity
Ambition, synchronicity.
