Flawed
i am flawed
like the ruffled corners of a
sheet of notebook paper
messy like smeared lipstick
dented like a scrap of metal
broken like shards of glass
stained on the surface and
only right half the time
i am the blemish on the face of
a perfect world
surrounded by porcelain skin
and two-toned hair
even when deprived of the right
to smile
i still carry my fiber-optic light
as i am
the one who
dares to emit a fragment of
fluorescence
for those who are lost in the dark....
