Yes, and the evil came from man--not a tool used. Epically tragic but the system failed in its task of protecting those at risk, and thus innocence died.

we hear/watch the news the other side of the world here in Australia. I've watched coverage from America as well. Why were the police so slow and ineffective in responding?

It is difficult for Australians to understand, we have had no school shootings and I hope we never do. That doesn't mean we don't feel for those children, families in the States.
