Flashy Bait

You must not hesitate,
If you do you'll be late.
Will you procrastinate?
This ordeal is your fate,
It's not a welcomed date.
Why stare at your plate?
you don't have to negate.
Pick wisely in your mate,
don't trust the flashy bait.

Imagine If we ever found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow (impossible) how much more adventurous we would be, but never to the point of having flashy bait following and courting us - I learnt my lesson the hard way, I fell into the trap, marriage lasted 3 years, but from this diaster, I have a wonderful son whom my Dad idolized and so I became wise - Elias is my pillar of strength and a good man, we are married 20 years and we love each others son's as if they are our own. I love this poem , a fav. Hugs Jen.

Just love that last couplet there about not trusting the flashy bait --- or the 'fleshy bait' either, for that matter! :) gw

Reminds me of the saying, never judge a book by its cover. Sound advice Alexis. Tom.
