Flashes of Wisdom
Many years, I’ve seen a lot
Many things, I’ve stood and fought
Evil was there, then and now
Spreading like wildfire, somehow
I sought other kind people along the way
One worked hard and was killed one day
The corrupt organize like a tidal wave
Flooding over those we want to save
Many years, I’ve seen a lot
Various things I certainly sought
It’s more than most people can understand
Always reaching to unite hand in hand
But time rolls on, as it always does
Often not as we expect because,
Free will has taken people to dark places
New actions with unrecognizable faces
My heart will always have a deep ache
But my soul will always try to make
Whatever I can with what I hold
As I walk through all that I see unfold
I’ll keep on hoping that others will see
At least the full truth that will be,
What keeps them safe and at their best
To live to the fullest and find the rest
Many years, I’ve seen a lot
As flashes of wisdom, I have been taught
