Flare

They say it's not my business
to console her, to lend her grief
brief respite, for winds blow cold
on remote torment and regret;
yet death revived an ember,
a flare not shared since we were one,
in better days that I shall ne'er forget.

Just me, again. After I commented earier I thought of this and I wanted to share it with you. 1 Corinthians 13. Don't mean to be a bother but they are such words of beauty and truth! Love Robin

This is a very touching write. I believe that if you've really loved someone you never really stop loving them and if they need comfort how could your heart refuse. If you love you don't ever want to see that person hurting. A lot of deep sentiment here. Love it! Love, Robin

This sounds like the possible beginning of a new poem/story. Something or someone new in your life. Just a guess. Intriguing. Love, Shar

Aww Keith! This is a great poem. I like the "yet death revived an ember" a touch of hope, nothing's ever over, just a brand new start. I hope you're alright though. Nathaniel

Terrific poem, but there is a story behind those heartfelt words...something that caused hurt and pain from someone who once shared a close bond. Perhaps this new pain will mend hearts? A larger story between those lines. ~ Carrie
