The meter of this poem is Imabic Pentameter / Cateletic.

Cateletic = The end syllable or word is the final "beat" of the line.

If sorrow cloaks the surface of your soul 
And chills the warmth that turns your wishes cold, 
Unchain the hidden anguish in your hold,
Releasing tethered truths that must be told. 

Your clever wisdom, once conceived as real, 
So blinded you to feelings kept concealed. 
Inducement starts when you at last repeal 
The law you self imposed, a false ideal. 

Beginning chapter one you sense a start. 
Ahead we veer, adjust and reembark. 
In time the doubts will pass, from our concern, 
Devotion grows in knowledge two must learn. 

A flaming passion, uncontrolled, will die.
Insightful ones will dodge the seering light.
The quantity is not where truth abides,
The quality is where forever lies.

Gene- I am so personally impacted by this poem. I am at chapter one having spent a lifetime cloaked in sorrow and clever wisdom living life as a play. I don't think anyone can really know the heart of anyone else but with another to dance with we can come to better know ourselves. I will keep this poem to remind me what lies ahead. I feel none of us are ever sure, when it comes to complications of emotion, our hearts and relationships with others. I plod along through the good and not so good. Thanks for the insightful response, Charmaine. It does become a trial and error experience. The coming together of two, complex human minds is beyond our understanding. Partnerships are a "play" without a star or script. Relationships can be judged as compatible quickly, using our experience and common sense. No 2 humans share the same, exact view. One bends, accommodating the other and vice versa. We're alone in our views and inner selves, as our partners are, IMHO...Always good to hear from you....Your friend...Gene
