Five On the Floor

Five on the floor, five and more
And they're dancing to the show
One and done, over and won
As the march to madness goes

Game on, and the game is for
Five on the floor, five and more
Taking pains to stay in range
For the game lives in the score

Forty to go, five or more
For the madness knows the score
Five on the floor, five and more
Leaving it all on the floor

Now it’s done, and one moves on
And the one that plays no more
Breaks our hearts, the madness roars
Five on the floor, five and more

I'll be honest, I ws stumped by the term 'five on the floor' and before I read the comments below thought that it may even refer to a computer game. :) (I know, I know..) Yeah, this was during our college basketball end-of-season tournament - big event here in the States for fans of the college game and occurs mostly during the month of March (March Madness). Five on the floor refers to the five players each team can put on the floor at one time. Hope that helps make sense of it! So far my team (UConn) is still in the tournament - So I haven't hit the heartbreak, yet. ;) This is the first Quatern I ever wrote. It was fun :) - john
