Five Letter Words

I'm going to dub this poetry form Fem Bogstaver which in Danish means "five letters." If there is a real name for this, please let me know.

I was given a challenge on Instagram by a fellow poet to write something that uses ONLY five letter words, and I enjoyed writing it immensely. I'd like to challenge you all here to do the same. If you can make it rhyme, bonus points, but it has to make some sense.

See my contest with prizes!

Congratulations on launching your first contest, Rhoda! I have not seen what the rules are, but this example is clear enough to give me a good idea. You tempt me to have a go at it. Good luck with judging! Regards // paul

I've found that doing xword puzzles helps a lot with letter counting, Rhoda:) Do come knocking if you need help...or sugar to make tea or coffee:) Regards // paul

Thank you, Paul. I may come to you for help if I have questions. It's been exciting to read the entries submitted thus far. I do hope you make a go at it. Its maddening, and if you're like me, you will use your fingers often to count letters, then get disgusted and want to crumple and throw your paper across the room, but hey, it's all in good fun, right? Thank you for stopping in and for all your help and support. You are a gem.

Lol. It did me, but I was very relieved when finished so its almost worth it. By the way, it will give your fingers a work out. "One, two, three, four, five, six...dammit"

Wow have you thrown down a gantlet, and just when I've got my Mom thru Xmas! I can't resist this invite and will have to some how carve out time. Your example is impressive and I do love writing challenges. You're on, girl. All the best to you, brat (right now, you're a brat for drawing my interest, come tell my Mom what you have done). Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Lol...CayCay. You may be afraid of Mom, but I'm not because I don't know how mean she can get. (But I'd hate to cause rancor and Christmas time, I mean, well, maybe, maybe not) *wink wink* I am feeling a bit bitchy grinchy. Good luck in the contest.

This is really cool. Five is my favorite of all the numbers too. I wanted to see your example and it's cute! You don't mind if we do shorter poems with longer lines, do you?
