Fitted Sheets

Do a wash with fitted sheets And often, you’ll be finding Socks or t-shirts stuck inside In need of some unwinding. For as the dryer spins around Such items are attracted Into the vortex of those sheets And need to be extracted. It’s easy to forget to look So by the time I spy them, The cycle’s almost finished And there isn’t time to dry them. Each laundry day I wonder, As I open the machines, What those sheets have trapped; today It was a pair of sopping jeans!

Ah, a real winner here, Ilene! So rhythmically worded, and so, so true … In my house we look for forgotten nickels, dimes, and quarters---and just hope that we don't find the remains of dollar bills! :) gw

If the Ladies Home Journal (?) is still published, you should send your poem to them for publication as it certainly deserves a wider audience! Aloha! Rico

Interesting that I had that very experience today, Ilene! Frustrating indeed! Keep on spinning your down to earth, every day situations that we face. Enjoy them - Bob

I love the way you write about down to earth living. Now if we could just get those fitted sheets to stay fitted to the mattress corners...
