Fishes In the Sea

They told me to stay away,
wiping each tear from my cheek.
But no one,
could love me
the same way you told me.

They told me you're not worth it.
I refused to believe,
But how could I be so naive?

They told me you're a liar,
but I didn't learn till you had
burned my hands with fire.

So I stand here, crying, you see.
Waiting for another fish in the sea.
