-first Song-

It was clumsy when I first tried,
To sing the song you wrote.
When others cringed at my voice,
You just smiled and kept trying.

This first song that I sang,
You were there when I sang it.
I don't want you to leave my side,
So please smile with me.

Proving everybody wrong, I smiled as I did,
Singing that same nameless tune I knew.
Still thinking of a name for it despite your age,
But I know even your old mind couldn't forget it.

This first song that I sang,
You were always there when I sang it.
Please tell me you'll be here for another hundred years,
To hear what you've created.

Despite the ticking clock and the blank line that forms,
I still smile by your side, for happiness is what you've taught me.
Singing in that same clumsy voice that you created,
Our first song.

Thank you :) As long as we hold that first song in our hearts, it's okay.
