First Sight

When our eyes met, I knew
and so did you.
Our years of longing, waiting
were through.

In the flicker of a blink
I was at your side.
A longer look into your eyes
truth we couldn’t hide.

No words escaped our lips.
I simply took your hand
in the firmest of grips
and two were one unplanned.

Thank you, Jan. I sense that throughout your life you have made well-reasoned decisions. That impression comes through in your writing, which, almost invariably, is truth-grounded. Hugs, Paul

I love this Paul! You have captured that knowing feeling so well. When I first spoke to my husband I visualized us getting married. I thought I was going a bit nuts, but the attraction was instant and within two years we were married and just celebrated 37 years wed in December. This little gem is going I to my faves! : ) xxoo

Connie, it's so kind of you to confirm my belief in the poem. I thought I had failed, still I continued to believe. Congratulations to you and one exceptionally blessed man for 37 years of bliss. The eyes tell no lies. Hugs, always, Paul
