First Love

Seeing you the first time, I knew it was love at first sight.
I felt the radiant glow of my skin and the joyous beat of my heart.
As every inch of distance between us became closer, your back light flared brighter.

Your hair glittered.
Your smile shimmered.
Your eyes glistened.

And when you were already too close, close enough that I could hardly breathe, the whole world beamed.
But as the light expelled, you were already gone.
