First Love

The sweetest of all the bitter grieves, The mystery, then undiscovered, The bound between the truth and myths, The worst of sins, the greatest power. The first step on the way, life-long, That leads to still unknown future, The way I started on my own - This all was just one love, not mutual. Two years passed. The other eyes Are looking back at me - young, naive I've grown up to realize Each tear spilled was not in vain. I read each word I wrote those days, And all those memories I treasure. Deep in the anguish, yesterday's, I see the value that can't be measured. First love - an angel with one wing, I hope without me you feel better, Can't help but wonder if you think Of me sometimes... Well, doesn't matter.

April, I saw you had posted some poems today and came to have a look. First of all, everything I've looked at is really, really good. Second, I can't understand how I haven't stumbled across your work before. Lastly, I am dumbfounded by the lack of comments you have received. Its getting late but tomorrow I will be back to read them all. Your dedication is amazing! Keep writing. Love, Nigel
