First Day of Class

One day I noticed a child
And I said, "What are you up to?"
The child responded casually,
"I'm on my way to school".

And what are you going to do
When you are there?"
Maybe the child said,
"I can learn to have and share!"

"And what else do you think
You would like to learn?"
"I'd like to learn of money
So I can spend and earn!"

"And whatever else
Do you think you'd like to do?"
"I want to make new friends
To have to walk to school!"

"And tell me child now
What can you learn from all this stuff?"
"Well ma'am, the child further answered,
I can learn to grow up!"
