Firefly

Today after diwali night, I was walking on the streets of light. The winter is drawing nearer, Just because the sky is getting colder. Then right out of no where I had a glimpse of you, And my mind was engulfed by the thoughts of you. I see your face shining in the dark, It steals my gaze and heart. I want to have you near me, Your face that is all I wanted to see. But you just pass me by, Just like a firefly. One more time I want to see you, One more time I want to spend some time with you. And you will never feel the way I do, The more I want you the more it breaks my heart and that is what you do. But still I could never ever hate you, Just because it's you. The complex's garden is my favourite place, Its beauty that is all I love to embrace. I see those beautiful butterflies, Which are soothing to my eyes. And then you just pass me by, Just like a firefly. One more time I want to see you, One more time I want to see the bright light from you. Even if you are shimmering in the darkness, That light is enough to end my loneliness. And you are still in my memory, As I still love you quietly. And you just can't hold that light onto it, As I can't reach it. I wonder why I still keep thinking about you, It makes me cry as I think of you. And you will never feel the way I do, Because breaking my heart is what you like to do. I still keep waiting for the light, In the night. In search of you, Even though I know that I have already lost you. But then you just pass me by, Just like a firefly.

So sweetly sad this tale of unrequitted love. It is like looking a finely woven piece of silk, all the words set together perfectly.
