Mockingbird comes from his nest deep within running rose Where it rest upon the trellis Out into the down pour of rain stands shakes his wings over and over again Turns around goes back in through the thorns hungry but where it is dry and warm So like the Mockingbird am I I don't like facing a rainy day Just want to stay beside a roaring fire snug and warm....

Sounds like a good trade to me, hunger for warmth and peace. In the Army I'll trade food for rest and sleep any day. You'll never not eat in the Army, but being snug and warm, getting any kind of sleep is a luxury we don't always get. I can identify with this one. I like... MC

It's amazing that you have imagined a mockingbird from that image! I don't think that I would have come up with that! Interesting how you went with the picture to this write, I truly love your imagination...you came come up with some really grand things, like I wish to be able to at times! What a fantastic and enlightening poem! Great Work!!

Did you see the mockingbird? or is this based entirely on that picture I just saw. it's a really good picture. I like how you compared your own feelings to those of the mockingbird.
