Fingers In My Ears

I was accidentally eavesdropping
While I was grocery shopping
When my ears started popping

Over by the produce section
I heard about a supposed connection
Between "The End" and the election

I thought to myself "Wow...
I don't mean to be holier than thou
But, did you say that out loud?"

Let's not give him that much credence
He's certainly no antecedent
To everything we think is decent

I stopped myself and remembered
I wanted to forget about this November
So I marveled at the fruit in all its splendor
