Fingerdance Potd

                          FINGERDANCE

I remember finger dancing as a young ballerina.
Why I could, leap, twirl, fly in the air to the sound of
an orchestra or even a concertina!

As many decades have quickly whirled away, with the
beauty of the seasons.
I am trying it yet again, and find, I am still that little girl,
with glistening brown hair, and pink ballet dress, once
and forevever, an accomplished ballerina, who needs no
reason!

The young days of pink tulle and net have never, from ny
soul, drifted very far away.
And, if only you were here, you would see me now,
fingerdancing, across the walnut, shining table in
every which conceivable, patterned way!

This is a wonderful poem. I know why it received not only POTD but was also included in this list of best poems. I hear and feel the music and see the ballerina in the tulle pink tutu. I also see practice time on the walnut table. Congratulations again, Pangie.

Congratulations on POTD. You have captured the movements and music of ballet from a beautiful slow arabesque to adagio music to pirouettes and jete with allegro music. I can see it all including your love for dance and Fingerdancing. Never give it up in the pink tulle tutu with pink toe shoes.

Hello, Madelyn....you commented earlier. Thank you for coming back,I have to curtesy now in my tutu. You remember those days, don’t you? Here we are decades later, still in the arts. Oh, what fond memories. I still try on my ballet shoes! You also played musical instrument! I failed at that but learned guitar later. You used both ballet and musical terms. Wow! Any dance I love. Now, only to Bossa Nova music. Glad we share a childhood glimmering with fun, music and love, Panagiota. Thank you.

Had to rewrite my comment..,,sorry.anyway, glad to see you here. I do look forward to some people showing up. As in life we lose friends too. But they are replaced by new ones, who far exceed them in warmth. You are one of them. Sorry I write long comments. I connect with people better that way. I am not into being number 1 on the comments board. Besides, I cannot type.)) I don’t look at commenting like homework and a race. It’s more like fine wine, one savors. Panagiota. Thank you,

Pangie, your delightful words plie and arabesque across the page. 'The young days of pink tulle and net have never, from my soul, drifted very far away.' Your thoughts remind me to reminisce on all the wonderful memories of childhood and youth, and whenever possible share the joy with others. Thank you for this walk down memory lane and big congratulations for your POTD honor! Enjoy your day ~ John

Ah, John! I rarely think of the words. I concentrate on memory, feelings emotion. I am very critical of what I write. Rarely, if ever, am I impressed with my poetry. I was just listening to Cole Porter..omg, what a master of simple words! Filled with emotion that nearly blow me through the ceiling. Amazing artist. Blows me away. I am overjoyed to hear your analysis. Yes, do cherish, bless and share the past. I wish I could compose and write music to lift souls. All I can do is compose poetry. Hoping to do far better in the future. Panagiota. With a dancing bouquet of gratitude, sprinkled with a curtesy and humility. Panagiota...THANK YOU!
