The old rhyme goes that violets are blue, maybe! But violets vary from pale apricot to white too. And roses are red....bah! Who says? I've seen them in all colours, even black. Some like white flowers, others yellow or red. Me, I love them all, who cares? A flower is a flower, it's the thought that counts. And when their life span is over I grieve for I equate them with my life. For when a flower blooms, is it the inception of love? And when it dies, is it the end of it all? When we fall in love, are we prone to vagaries of life, vulnerable to hurt and eventual death? But we could just strike gold, and meet our true love, two lovely pure white doves cooing away, lovingly all the way.

Lovely write, Victor. I am One of the most fortunate to have found love, but also lost. Maybe one day I will be granted the gift again. As for flowers yes roses coming different colors but my favorites are the ones that have a sweet scent like a lily or gardenia. Hugs Eve

That’s lovely Victor, love comes in many colours, as does the rose, we just have to wait and see how it grows... This is a blast from the past, long ago there was two doves who would constantly sit on our garden fence cooing, my hubby started to coo with them one day and I said “no, I’m not sitting on the fence with you” we often laugh about that. Victor, unfortunately, I don't think most people even know what true love really is. Sadly, most folks these days only love their electronic devices. Nicely penned old friend. Hoping you and yours are well.

Sometimes love and lifetime commitment works out and sometime not. Today it is very easy to end a relationship or more so than in the past. I don't know if that is good or bad. I do know it is not good to have to live in a marriage with an alcoholic, drug addict, an abuser, or any of those things. Thanks for dropping by my page. Sara

WoW! Victor, You composed such a well-written poem about one finding their true love, and your use of the flower to express it was impressive. I echo what Regina said, have a great day, my friend:-) Alexis

We spend our lives seeking it and then our whole outlook on life changes, we know then we've found it. Tom

A flower is a flower; it's the thought behind it that counts, dear Victor, The skin color is obsolete, our sweat and body odor will fade away, but last, the true and pure white doves cooing away, lovingly all the way. Cheers my friend
