Finding Together

I'm thinking of you, daughter
Of how our life was then
And how it became torn

I wanted to protect your eyes
From faulty human ways

In doing so, my anger grew
And was used against me
His threats won, and I
Lost out on my part with you

Too much seen with lost eyes
Daily life consumed us, tore us apart
The fight pursues still to this day

To find together
In a lasting embrace
Never again to be untied
