Finding Myself

My favorite Dr. Seuss quote: " A person's a person, no matter how small!!!

I so wanted to grow up
and to be in charge of me,
but I had to mind my mama
when a toddler on her knee.

I thought that I had made it
when big enough to go to school,
but I found how truly small I was
each time I broke a rule.

There was always someone bigger,
someone more adept than I.
I have long known I have to prove myself
somehow, some way before I die.

Then one day at last, it happened,
true greatness came to me.
I turned into a great grandma.
How grander could I be?
