Find Your Sanctuary

As an artist paints his picture
A dancer performs the dance
While the actor plays the role
And I have discovered the power of a word
We are in our sanctuary

The sky grows dark
As the seasons will change
The weather turns cold and grey
But in here, I feel comfort and warmth

Buildings will collapse
Old problems come back to relapse
Children are being born
Stars, are created in the heavens
Some people might be hated
Others may be admired

Within my possession is the authority of a word
The power to be heard
This happens while in my sanctuary
Here what is blocked
Now becomes unlocked
What has been hidden
Now surfaces to a brilliant light

Life will always present questions
And perhaps not enough answers
But that's okay
As an artist paints his picture
The dancer performs the dance
While the actor plays the role
I write words
We are in our sanctuary

This is the special place
To utilize our creative space
It is here that we fill fully alive

Look inside yourself and reach out
Find the sanctuary that awaits
Everyone has one

Dedicated to those who are still seeking
And to everyone who has discovered their
                                     Sanctuary, whatever that may be
