Find It Odd

Last fall she was dancing up a storm at her grandsons wedding attire adorned, having more energy than the energizer bunny twirling around having a demeanor very sunny, Then late April of this year she felt fatigued had labored breath and no gumption to eat, blood test not only revealed anemia but white blood blast cells diagnosis MDS leukemia, This week was admitted to her local hospital for several issues when I got a call, heavy swelling in legs and fluid in lungs also congestive heart problems is no fun, Was in hospital for only four whole days given diuretics and meds and seems okay, doc wanted to also give her a blood transfusion but could not due to her chemo infusions, Back at home independent is my 80 y/o Mom although all these health issues set off an alarm, I just thank God my sister is her health proxy not too far away out of supportive necessity, Just find it odd that she had so much energy and to this all we siblings can attest to and agree, our Mom is a trooper who wont take this lying down will fight health issues with a smile and not a frown, Living so far away at times like this is hard making special point to drive the 967 miles in my car, for a mother daughter sibling reunion in just 11 days hopeful emotional ending for the month of May. 5-13-17

A very emotional uplifting poem, though the object of your affection is ailing so, Cheryl. Your mother is in my prayers. Wishing you and her a blessed Mother's Day. Sad, but spiritually elevating poem. A 7!
