Filled With Awe

When a bright star shone over Bethlehem
shepherds bedded their flocks and went to see
a miracle that soon overwhelmed them
curious at what its meaning could be.

Shepherds bedded their flocks and went to see
a baby in a manger filled with straw,
curious at what its meaning could be
feeling both humbled and yet, filled with awe.

A baby in a manger filled with straw,
the son of God, born of a virgin birth.
Feeling both humbled and yet, filled with awe
they knelt before Jesus, the king of Earth.

The son of God born of a virgin birth,
a miracle that soon overwhelmed them.
They knelt before Jesus, the king of Earth,
when a bright star shone over Bethlehem.
