Fighting Sorrow
Fighting Sorrow
When the stars refuse to glow;
And the moon turns off her light.
That is when I'll know;
You are forever from my sight.
When the sun no longer rises;
And the winds of time stands still.
There will be no surprises;
Nothing more will I feel.
When all the waters run backwards;
And birds choose not to fly.
I will accept that I am shattered;
And will lay me down to die.
Until that day arrives;
I simply will not succumb.
Like the Phoenix I will rise;
For I shall overcome.
If today must be a battle;
Then a warrior I shall be.
Nothing's won for the idle;
I carry perseverance and dignity.
When this day be finished;
And I reflect the challenged scores.
My love will be undiminished.
Your memory the source.
