Fig Leaf

A Catholic "priest" 
          plays his role 
              too well, publicly; 
                   a seasoned actor 
                        on the world stage.

                         After the show's over 
                               and his audience 
                         fade away, his mask
                                of piety peeps off
                                   a fig leaf 
                           concealing
                  his monstrosity 
                   reveals...

        a sexual predator!

Note: Another great movie--Spotlight(2015)--I saw a while back inspired this poem. There's no greater monster than a priest that preys on children!

These criminals are hypocrites with zero moral compass ~ they obviously don't believe in hell... and they are our spiritual guides. Inconceivable - totally beyond comprehension.
