Notes About The Poem

1) Focus on God's faithfulness from past acts. Respond to His faithfulness by being faithful (Hos 2:19-20; Ps 91).
2) When you are "surrounded by lions", determination is needed to praise God. Be determined, and you will receive God's strength. (Ps. 57)
3) Experiencing God’s loyal love is better than life itself (Ps 63:3). 
4) Do not depend on mere flesh and blood for your strength (Jer 17:5-8).
5) Humans do not possess the knowledge and wisdom required to judge God on any level (Isa 45:9-12, Job 38:1-42:6). "It is wiser to bow in submission and adoration of God than to try to judge Him.” - Warren Wiersbe
6) God's measure of a man or a woman - they could not be dissuaded from His plan (Heb 11).
7) God disappoints us and baffles us sometimes in order to make us succeed (Ex 5:22-23).
8) Christian joy is the spiritual fruit of obeying the Lord despite opposition and temptation (Lk 6:22-23).
9) The priority is staying current with God and His word, removing any rivals from our hearts before asking of Him (Ezek 14:1-5).
10) The Lord has an unlimited supply of sustenance and blessing, but He does not give it all at once so that we continue to trust Him (1 Kings 17:7-16).

Fiery Trials Top Ten

Focus on His faithfulness,
Especially His past acts.
Respond with your faithfulness,
For disloyalty subtracts.

When lion and lioness
Surround for deadly attacks,
Determine to praise and bless,
For His strength counteracts.

Don't forfeit His loyal love.
It's greater than life itself.
Fellowship with Him above.
Don't try a do-it-yourself.

Trusting in mere flesh and blood,
Brings a curse upon people.
Your life gets stuck in the mud-
Mount with wings like an eagle!

Why do you try to judge Him?
Your wisdom cannot compete.
Be wise and bow, not condemn-
His desire fulfilled is sweet.

Are you repelled by His plan?
That's the measure of a man!
Tell me what is greater than
A Hebrews 11 clan?

Sometimes He will disappoint-
Success can be knocked out-of-joint. 
No worries from His standpoint,
Moses is a case-in-point.

Where can Christian joy be found?
Joylessness seems to abound.
His fruit of joy will astound,
Obeying on the battleground!

Stay in His fear and His word,
Or boundary lines are blurred.
Rivals to Him you must purge
For His blessings to resurge.

Bottomless blessings are vast.
He doesn't give them all fast.
You must continue to trust-
Abiding in Him is a must.
