Field of Dreams
I crossed the river of fears, trying to steer the rapids
To the field of dreams where my pushy heart aims
I galloped mightily like a devil in ecstasy
Pouncing fearlessly against the raging sea
I challenged the surging tides by plunging very deep
Not minding my strides, not fearing to slip
But my fearlessness, made me defenseless
For like a soldier of valor, I fought without armor
My craving for the unknown, dragged my feet far from home
Towards climbing the sands of dune where my feet can't play a tune
I don't know if I can still walk my way back across the hill
Help me through, I am lost, I am wandering like a ghost
This heart longs for that morning breeze that graced my first breath
To lay my body to rest where earth does not discriminate
Sanctify my tainted soul, for in pit I had fallen
Like many men, on their field of dream
Yes, many souls were lost on the field of dreams
That even the biting frost had forgotten their names
So, in every step you take, be careful not to slip
Do not try to mimic the hasty strides I made
Be bold to make your own stride, but be cautious enough to glide
Let not your soaring pride pull you down like a slide
For you cannot efface the dark stains of your imprint
Like ghosts of olden days, they will haunt you in your sleep
