April came as my invited guest
Delighted once again to see her magnificent gifts
But she brought her frost laden bucket
Raised it upon the warm air
Three nights of chill, frost everywhere
Some plants turned black, frozen through
Japanese magnolia blossoms died falling down
Star magnolia white littered the ground
April, April! You silly clown
Corn up three inches high dies with a sigh!
Tomato plants frozen through
We buried them too!
Your middle is better than your beginning
Spring finally arrived with a warm blow dryer
Waved it all around
Spring green appeared, inspired
People begin to trek outside
They are uplifted at the sight of you
No longer bundled up 'til they can't move
Enjoying some beauty that you bestowed
April so fickle please don't switch again
Let your inexpugnable attitude remain
Warm the earth let her send forth her beauty
Touch, caress all the plants, trees and flowers
Encourage all of this planet to come alive
Renew once again all humankind
Remind them of a spirit of love
Show them how to be kind

inexpugnable-adj.-stable, fixed
I read a lot of poetry. If any part of my work sounds familiar, it is not because I have copied another famous poet on purpose. The opening verse when I got to thinking about it reminded me of Emily Dickinson but I did not do it on purpose so I am giving her credit for the idea in verse one .
