Few Beers

After a few beers.

He just loved to talk,
his words gushed out
like water spraying
from a broken garden hose
on a blistering, hot day;

and his worst fears
seemed to vanish
like beer poured into
a swimming pool
beneath a noonday sun.

After a few beers.
