Fever Pitch

.                                       Ka--Rack !
                                  The bat splintered.
                             The excited crowd roared!
                  “Strike Two!” The tense Ump blared hoarsely.
                   Coach screamed, “Bases loaded, two outs! Two strikes!
                         Top of the ninth, down by three, Joe!
                                 Blast it outa the park!!”
                                      The pitch burned in!
                                         KA--RACK !!!
