The morning sky is still blueish While the festive air feels newish The snowflakes are falling Now that Christmas is calling Such an odd time of year when you're Jewish

Very true. It is the happiest time of the year still for both. I enjoyed your limerick. Congratulations on your win. Blessings

Dear Avery, I enjoyed your fun yet thought provoking limerick. Christmas is so ubiquitous, especially commercially, I’ve wondered if Christmas time felt odd to non-Christians. Congratulations for your excellent win in Andrea’s contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

It was the last line that I liked best about this one. So very true . I wonder if many Jewish people celebrate Christmas in the commercial way like a lot of the world does. Cute one. Congrats in my contest.

Thank you - I find that everyone celebrates the holidays differently, and that makes it beautiful :). But growing up Jewish for me meant a day where everything was closed so we stayed home and watched TV. And sometimes chinese food to follow haha

I should think that true, Avery, but never forget that Jesus was a Jew! Educated a Jew, and his earthy ministry was expressly for his own people...the Jews!
