Fervent Desire to Find You
antiquated book with faded red cover
held together with glimmers of hope
words of Coleridge and Poe
found in the deepest darkest library corner
guarded by word trolls who scoff at rhyme
you are often sought,
others seem to have found you
I have glimpsed you but twice
you were always in another’s hands
I watched their faces glow as they read
you are the portal to my feelings
I understand I will never fully understand me
until I connect with your wizened yellow pages
It is my fervent desire to find you before my death,
book of faded poets
