Fentanyl Addition

oh it was dreamy lost in a haze of nothing- crashing down screaming ______________________ I got sick, hospital sick, like death's kiss, but I survived or I would not be writing this; I had surgeries but this story is about- my high thriller, it is about the drug Fentanyl a powerful pain killer. Much stronger than Morphine to control the pain, and after six months imagine an addiction gone insane; I came home addicted and knew I was in trouble, and lost in a drug induced crazy bubble. Decided to take myself off Fentanyl slowly, I would thrash like a lunatic saying words unholy; well, after many weeks, I came down to earth, I was free again to be me, it was like a rebirth. I am glad that you are all right; this sounds like a horrible prescription; why do they still prescribe it? It sounds like it did a job on you. So sorry Constance.

Caren, thanks for visiting, well they prescribe it in the hospital to help with severe pain but it is very addictive and I think they should start weening a person off it before sending them home, but they do not, so many come home like me after 6 months in hospital addicted, it was a bad time but I got better and I got off fentanyl _ Constance

Wow, a powerful, well written poem Constance, glad you overcame this battle! Luckily for me pain meds just make me sick and never gave me any type of high.

Tania, it was a dark time in my life, I was sick, in pain and that's what the doctors in the hospital gave me for pain, it worked but too well, it was rough but I kicked it and will never let that happen to me again, thanks for your compassion and visit to my poem _Constance

I've read it can be so addictive Constance. i think it is what cause the deaths of Michael Jackson and Prince:-( so glad you managed to kick this drug and are ok:-) hugs jan xx

Jan, thanks for the visit, I was given it in the hospital for pain, maybe MJ and Prince had pain too but maybe part was they liked the high, it is a dangerous drug _Constance
