Fences Can'T Block Emotions

The fresh air surrounds me entering all my senses
Delicate grass touches my ankles soft yet sturdy
Memories flood my total being__the grief...despair
When they laid my mother to rest, no understanding

Only fifteen months old how could I understand death
Everytime I come here emotions flood my soul
Should be a lovely place of solitude to enjoy
I will try to make it so today for there's beauty

Who placed the fence here to separate me from mother
Weep my soul for her....separated from her now..here
I'll leave these flowers sit awhile remembering
The emotions that connect to her even in death

From this grave she reaches out to me in spirit still
I am glad they chose this mountain site with the view
How could they have known that it would restore my soul now
Someday soon I will see you again in person...my mother

wow,, you had some connection and feelings with the picture then... the flowers must of opened something inside of you ,, some sort of emotion to remind you of your mother,... wonderful job and i'm so sorry, it's a sad thing to have gone through.. well not at the time. you were just a youngling,, thinking about it must hurt you... stay strong ,, your mother is looking down on you with joy

This was written in response to a picture on WritersCafe.Org on a group site where there is competition...The picture was of a concrete Masoleom on top of a mountain with a view but someone had placed hogwire fencing between the path and the grave...There was a small bouquet of flowers lying on this side of the fence...This reminded me of the fact that my biological mother died when I was fifteen months old and I was separated from her in several ways I don't even know where she is buried...Sara
