Feelings, Fear and Faith

FEELINGS, FEAR & FAITH

When I let my feelings rule, it made me out to be a fool.
I felt that I was in Love, except love was then used as a tool,
to get his gig on the move, knowing fully well that he did not mean
to seal the deal.

Then I let myself be ruled by fear,
year after year it took its pound of flesh.
As I became less of the woman I dreamed I would be.

Then I gave myself over to faith, Faith in my dream to be a better me.
Faith in my God who strengthened me.
Now I've loosened the grip of feelings and fear and emerged
triumphant in faith soaring to greater heights.
