Feeling Sorry For Ghosts
There are none so naive as those who do not know
That they have died and, having nowhere to go,
Re-appear each night, giving the unprepared a fright.
They do not intend to be anti-social souls,
And would like to apologise for being ghouls
But no one stops by choice, to hear a ghostly voice.
And there is no one living in the nation,
Who has had an intimate conversation,
With a sexy banshee, sitting upon their knee.
But the poor spirits' greatest ambition
Is for confirmed human recognition;
(The headless ghost is the one we fear the most).
They walk alone, parted from the mortal,
Separated by the unseen portal.
Until a coming day, when others walk their way.
