Feeling Blue

In pursuit of happiness, you follow persuasive shadows tethered to the night. And fall into a pit of depression, plunged into darkness where there is no light. Alluring smiles draw you into the dark, where resistance is slowly stripped away. And your innocence is stolen by lies, introducing you to the games they play. Your fragile heart is constantly breaking; shattering into a thousand regrets. But your pain's numbed by drugs and alcohol, under whose tutelage your heart forgets. Denial obscures your reality; you can't see what is happening to you. You don't understand why life seems empty; and it's left you puzzled and feeling blue.

A realistic look at the road many youth take until wisdom pulls them out to find out that they can be much happier on a different path. Of course sadly, some never do leave that life. Wonderfully expressed Emile. : )
