Fears
FEARS
Speaking of honesty and biggest fears
I tell you this in my most fearless
voice, such things will reveal my heart
fully exposed. For what I fear most
is that I will never again see the morning
Sun spark the glint in your eyes. I
fear never feeling your touch across my
body; that I will never again
shelter you from the summer rain,
never kiss your lips with a passion
like a gale-force wind that leaves
me breathless yet wanting more; I fear
I will never watch you sleep daring
not to move and spoil the moment. Love
is infinite in a single moment. My
greatest fear is that I will never hold
you in my arms wrapped in the knowing
that your heart shared the same space,
beating in harmony, entangled in time.
I fear we will never share another sunset
or hold hands by the fire. I fear my eyes
will never see the look in your eyes
as we make love, your fragrance intoxicating
my senses, a perfect storm of emotions.
I most fear I will never again have the chance
to whisper into your longing ear "I love you".
