Fear Ye Not the Bloody Monsters Unholy Ball

Fear Ye Not The Bloody Monsters Unholy Ball Dance gaily under the sweetest sublime moonlight While Autumn its too many dead-falling leaves sheds Hold not onto nasty tales of witches midnight Or the monster ball where the demons are well fed Walk the forest path fearing no blood thirsty hounds Nor coming Titans and Zeus' unholy dead beasts The Greeks have buried the old giants in large mounds While the warlocks throw a banquet, unholy feast. Walk that dangerous path with sword and shield proudly Your brain on high alert and your eyes all seeing Sing to Mother Nature too and our God loudly For those brave in faith will find courage in being. Dance gaily under the sweetest sublime moonlight. Hold not onto nasty tales of witches midnight. Robert J. Lindley, Sonnet 6-09-2023

With such marvelous prose, Robert, you have crafted an exquisite sonnet. It imparts invaluable wisdom to frolic joyfully beneath the enchanting moonlight and to shun the malevolent stories of witches that lurk in the midnight hours. This a fave. Blessings dear friend.

I thank you my friend. Many would not understand the darkness written within the verses. But the earth, this world exists as a dark entity. Poetry is not one sided. I write what my heart and my soul dictate, what it has seen and what it surmises is. To do less would be dishonorable, imho. Thanks much for the fav my friend, God bless..

I read this a few time because I really like this, particularly the style and voice. It feels like it’s from another time, which is a feeling I seek out in poems, especially if they’re relatable. The repetition of “hold not into nasty tales of witches” is really cool

Thank you, my friend. It was a poem I wrote many decades ago in my youth and I simply edited it to post here now. So yes, you got tha' flavor. God bless.
