Fear Of The Unknown
Like the Snake Desert, the Alagoas, or Mailu Suu
Monrovia, Mount Sinabung, or the Skeleton Coast
A perilous place where, in a crisis, there's no rescue
Is it written that I should go there and live like a ghost?
Often, I see a realm of gods, spirits, and immortals.
A place of perfection, endless joy, and cosmic tempo
Ultimate enlightenment and fulfilment of morals
Where streams of integrity, temperance, and patience flow
Couldn't I enter this domain with no gate to the grave?
Should I burn into a pyre where my bones and skull survive?
Should I be preyed on by eagles and vultures as a knave?
Should I, like a pyramid mummy, forever unlive?
With faith that it's an adventure, I undergo this fear.
Don't, when the winter mists end, the colours of spring appear?
