Fear of the Unknown
I walk, selecting my footsteps,
watching here and there,
trying every minute,
to identify that shadow lurking at that corner.
I walk, choosing my footsteps carefully
for I fear that danger is around,
waiting patiently to devour me.
That is the fear of the unknown.
I think with a frightened face,
what awaits me at home,
for I really smell danger.
That I say is the fear of the unknown.
What if I was sidelined,
what if I was rejected,
I say what if am being juxtaposed.
That I say is the fear of the unknown.
What if I fail,
what if I stumble,
I say what if I crumble.
Verily I say unto you that is the fear of the unknown
