Fear

Dark and stormy,
Lightening and thunder,
In your home,
While the lights go under,

Noises from the bedrooms,
Coming into the halls,
Screeching in the basement,
Scratches on the walls,

Fingernails along your shoulder,
A hand placed over your heart,
Your heart pounding,
As lights come back on,

You turn around,
To see this monster crawl,
Back in the basement,
Things disappear,

Was it your imagination,
Or was this just your fear....
